The Foundations of Engineering course is a smooth introduction to the profession of engineering. Students are exposed to the different disciplines of engineering, and to many examples of tools and techniques used in design and presentation.

The class is designed to demonstrate important techniques for being a successful student and a good time manager in a college environment. Students will learn about effective networking; campus facilities, and equipment (computers, recreations, co-ops, societies, and tutoring accommodations).

The main objective behind the class is to help incoming freshmen in their transition to college life, and to initiate them to engineering in general so that they are able to choose their preferred field.

Among other things, students will learn about engineering professions, and participate in group design projects and brainstorming sessions for new inventions; reverse engineering sessions; engineering issues; and written and oral communication.
