Foundations of Engineering TR 10:00 – 11:30 AM Week 2 Assignment

Purpose: To help students familiarize themselves with the communications and planner features of the program.

Logging on to TRAX:

• User Name is the same as your Social Security #
• Password is the same as your “My USF” password

TASK 1:

Students are to send an e-mail to their classmates about themselves, including:

· Where they are from

· They’re planned major

· Any extracurricular activities/hobbies

· What they did over the 3-day weekend

How to:

• After signing into TRAX click on the “My Communications” sub-menu to the left of the screen. Then click on the “Send a Message” box.
• Select the first pair of binoculars
• Select the “Public Groups” Search Type
• Then select the arrow on the “Groups Found” category
• There you will find 2 categories: Foundations of Engineering 004 Foundations of Engineering 010
• Select the category depending on the section you are in (If you’re in section 004 select Foundations of Engineering 004, if not, choose 010) then click “Search”
• When the list of persons appears, click on the “Select All People Found” button on the bottom of the page. Then click save.
• This brings you back to the “Compose” screen. Then type your message and click the “Send Message” button.

Task 2:

Add appointments on the future Foundations quizzes into your planner.

How to:

· Select “My Planner” sub-menu on the left then select “Add Appointment” option

· Enter the Location of the test, and the appointment name (both are needed to create the appointment).

· Enter the Start date and time

· Click the save button.

· To view the appointment go to the “Planner” option on the sub-menu
